Volunteer Captain Program

What is a Volunteer Captain? 

• Volunteer Captains are the food bank's on-the-ground leaders, helping organize and lead their assigned shift, mentoring new volunteers, and spreading the mission and goals of the food bank. 

• There is an individual volunteer captain for every food bank shift M-F 9:00 am-11:00 am, and 1:00 pm-3:00 pm

• New volunteer captains are selected semesterly; applications via a Google Form

• Upon being selected to be a volunteer captain, you will receive a lanyard with your name to wear during shifts, and a bag of some other Bread of the Mighty Swag

• Many previous volunteer captains have evolved their role and now serve on the executive board, so it is a great stepping stone to get involved with UF BOTM!
